Tamara trained as a dentist at Bristol University and graduated in 1993.
She was awarded her Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1999 and has been a registered specialist in Oral Surgery since 2000. She has enjoyed an interesting and varied career working in dental practices, community dentistry and hospital services, including a year working in the oral surgery department of Sydney Dental Hospital, Australia.
Since her return to the UK, Tamara has worked as an oral surgeon specialist at Bristol Dental Hospital and School. She teaches local anaesthesia, oral surgery, and conscious sedation at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and enjoys sharing her knowledge and skills this way. She has also obtained postgraduate qualifications in conscious sedation and teaching and learning for healthcare professionals.
Tamara’s work for Cathedral Close includes simple or complex dental extractions, including wisdom teeth and pre-orthodontic extractions for adults and children under local anaesthetic. She understands that for most of her patients, having a tooth extracted can be a daunting prospect.
Tamara always takes the time to discuss all relevant aspects of care prior to treatment. Her aim is to make procedures as easy as possible for her patients, treating them with compassion, care, and great skill.
